What is a brick base (half-brick) porch?

A brick base porch has a solid brick wall to dwarf-wall or sill height, with the oak frame and glazing sitting above it. The brickwork is matched to your existing house in bond, colour and detailing, while the exposed oak frame adds warmth and craftsmanship. It is the natural choice for brick and flint homes where an all-glass porch would look out of place.

Oak that weathers beautifully

Green oak needs no chemical treatment. Left natural it weathers gently to a silver-grey over the first few years, or it can be oiled to keep a warmer honey tone. Either way, an oak porch is virtually maintenance-free and only grows in character with age, which is why oak has been used for building in the South East for many hundreds of years.
